Information about Mother McAuley's Biodiesel Team/Operation Haiti

Mother McAuley is a private, all-girls, Catholic, liberal arts high school on Chicago's South Side. About ten girls are working (with help from Thornridge High School) to build a solar-powered Biodiesel Processor for 'Operation Haiti'. Once it is built we will send it down to the small town of Pichon, Haiti to provide the town with a way to make biodiesel using only solar power and to give the school electricity for the first time. This project has huge implications for the entire country of Haiti, it could change the way they live, use and consume energy. It is a wonderful humanitarian and economic project and all of the girls are really excited to be involved!
